Our Partners
The S’amunu Watershed is culturally significant to the Quw’utsun Mustimuhw (Cowichan Peoples) and, as such, Cowichan Tribes partner with us by guiding our work taking place on their traditional territories. This guidance includes helping us be aware of significant unidentified cultural features in the watershed and provides with traditional nature knowledge. Using a Real Estate Foundation Grant, we have hired an indigenous person part-time to guide our restoration efforts and facilitate discussions between ourselves and Cowichan Tribes. We also partner with the Municipality of North Cowichan through annual Service Agreements that support and guide our restoration work within the watershed.
