The Open Air Classroom (OAC) is a very important space in Somenos Marsh, not only for those people who visit regularly but also the many birds, mammals, and fish that call the Marsh home. The OAC allows for people to spend time in and enjoy the beautiful nature just off the highway and to learn a little about the Marsh. Every spring we host a work/maintenance party at the OAC to get it ready for the busy season to ensure everyone can enjoy the beautiful scenery it offers. You can expect some invasive removal, general maintenance, and nest box monitoring, along with any other odds and ends.

Please bring weather-appropriate clothing, good shoes, and water. Coffee and tea will be provided during the event.
