Once a week in the winter a crew of dedicated volunteers head out to count swans and geese around the Cowichan valley. The swan and goose count is an annual event that has been happening for many years and has become an important part of the wildlife monitoring in the Cowichan valley.

The crew meets at the Somenos Dog Park at 9:45 and heads out, carpooling from there. Please bring water, weather appropriate clothing and binoculars, no bird expertise is required, but do come prepared to learn lots from your fellow enthusiasts.
